An Innovative Software Addition, the ‘Moulding Assistant’

No longer just for the experts
Until a few years ago, the success or failure of the setup and processing on a spindle moulder was totally dependent on an individual operator’s knowledge and experience.  But now, at the very minimum, machines can ‘remember’ previously used settings. And the user-interface on these machines is so attuned to the operator’s requirements that they are no longer only for experts.

Man-machine dialogue is the way of the future
The innovative MARTIN software addition ‘Moulding Assistant’ replaces the current one-sided conversation and for the first time an operator can actually enter into a give-and-take dialogue with his machine. Similar to the Assistants for MARTIN sliding-table saws, the operator ‘tells’ the machine what he wants to do, using an intuitive entry mask. And then – and this is something totally new – the machine ‘answers’, so to speak. It suggests the appropriate tools, and only the appropriate tools, for the job at hand. The trick here is that the machine ‘evaluates’ the tools before making a suggestion.

Tool selection made easy
The operator can now see at a glance which of the suggested tools will be most efficient and can choose the one he wants. Then, based on this selection, the controls guide the operator step by step through the moulding process. During the process, the operator can actively intervene at any time and modify the settings if needed. Subsequent changes in dimensions, for example, can be executed quickly and easily as well. The ‘Moulding Assistant’ software module is available for all T12 and T27 machines and can also be added and installed at a later time without any problems.
