MARTINs sliding table-saws feature more!
Ottobeuren, May 2007. In March 2006, the engineering company MARTIN started delivering the compact sliding-table saw T60. Up to now with manually adjustable rip fence or the conveniently from the operator position by means of a hand wheel adjustable fence. At the LIGNA+ the manufacturer will present the T60 with a fast, controlled rip fence.
Three executions of fences for the T60
„Thus we respond to a clearly expressed request of the market for more control on the T60“, Peter Martin, Managing Director at MARTIN explains. Now the machines can be supplied with three rip fence executions.
The basic version of the fence is manually by means of a scale and precisely working micro adjustment. With the more convenient version the operator adjusts the fence by means of a hand wheel from the operator’s position - using a digital readout. “With this version we offer a cost-efficient and convenient solution”, comments Peter Martin.
“The new third, most efficient possibility to position the fence is surely the new execution, featuring the complete control of the fence by the modern Touch-Screen control”, so the Managing Director.
As all rip fences of the T60 the motorised one also runs on four grooved ball bearings. The axis “cutting width” is completely integrated in the modern Touch-Screen control, the drive is made by a modern CANBus motor with an accuracy of a tenth of a millimetre.
Infinitely variable speed control
From the LIGNA on the T60 can also be supplied with an infinitely variable speed control. The powerful 7.5 kW motor ensures that the speed range from 2.000 to 6.000 rpm can be used best. With this option the noise caused by any saw blade can be reduced very effectively to a minimum. By adapting the speed of the blade optimally a perfect balance between quality of cut and noise emission can be reached easily and quickly. And thanks to the modern passive cooling system the effort of maintenance reduces considerably.
On / Off at the sliding table
A further little news is the option “On / Off at the sliding table”. This accessory economises ways and provides additionally more safety at the machine. The main saw blade and the scoring saw unit can be switched on separately and are switched off by a conjoint switch.
