Tool and Program Identification with the DataMatrix-Scanner

The new tool identification system makes it possible for the user to quickly and reliably identify a particular tool – then he just has to scan the tool and that’s it. The selected tool is automatically displayed in the control system tool menu and can then be immediately positioned for the planned processing step. This system consists of an easy to handle but very robust barcode scanner with a practical holder mount and the necessary software extension in the control system. So that the scanner is always in reach, this reader which was specifically designed for industrial applications, is attached to the control panel.

High information density, for error-free reading
The new MARTIN system works with the advanced and extremely reliable DataMatrix code. The scanner comes with one thousand self-adhesive labels for your tools. The coding is smaller than a one-cent coin but still provides unusually high information density. One very important feature is the code’s durability: even when it is dirty or if as much as 25% of the label is damaged, the coded information can still be read with reliability. This is very important for normal workshop life.

Tools or programs? Both!
The system can be used very flexibly, for tool identification as well as for program identification. Tool and program data can both be saved under a single DataMatrix code. This has the advantage of making it possible for the operator to identify just the tool itself or the complete list of settings that go with the tool, depending on the task at hand. This new system is offered as an option for all T12 and T27 spindle moulders.
