POWER UNIT 100

The AL-KO POWER UNIT 100 is a tested clean air extractor in self-supporting design made of colour-powdered sheet steel. The dust extractor is built according to the harmonized standard DIN EN 16770 and is certified with the BG-GS test mark according to GS-HO-07, with note for residual dust content level test mark H3. Dedusters of this size are therefore permitted to be set up directly in the working area without additional fire and explosion protection measures. This creates excellent production conditions with healthy air at the workplace.

The US-versions are built in accordance with US safety standards. All built-in electrical components comply with UL guidelines. The POWER UNIT 100 is suitable for individual extraction as well as for supplementing a stationary system. The dust collector is suitable as a decentralized extraction system for universal use with a wide variety of materials such as wood and wood composites, plastics, metal, stones, and many more. The small dimensions make it possible to set up the dust collector even in confined workshops.

Mode of operation

The fan installed in the clean air area of the dust collector sucks the dust-laden air from an extraction pipe system into the interior of the system. There, chips and dust stick to the outside of the filters and are separated. The now filtered, clean air is blown out again at the top of the dust collector. The legally required residual dust content of the return air of 0.1 mg/m³ (H3) is reliably complied with by this design.

Design

The aluminium impeller with backward-curved blades is designed in such a way that even at full suction power it requires only a low power consumption. The eddy current technology used in the intake area achieves the best possible pre-separation.

Control

The APU 100 is switched on and off via a push-button switch on the device. Optionally, an automatic switch-on for automatic start-up can be installed upstream. Please observe the manufacturer’s instructions for the permissible total current of the automatic switch-on.

Filter

The device has space-saving inherently rigid pleated filter cassettes made of polyester needle felt with surface treatment these are electrically conductive. The selected external loading prevents clogging inside the filter. The filters have the BIA certificate and comply with dust class M. The easily removable device cover allows good accessibility in the entire clean air side filter area.

Filter cleaning

By means of the smooth-running manual shaking, the excellent cleaning result of the filter is achieved. This is done via the ergonomically shaped hand lever, which sets the wipers, which are arranged on the side of the filters, in wiping motion. In order to achieve a high cleaning effect, the dust collector must be switched off

Safety

The extraction of woodworking machines, in which effective ignition sparks and glow pockets are to be expected, is only possible with an additional safety device (e.g. Spark extinguishing system). No process- or environment-related ignition sources (e.g. glowing parts) may be sucked into the clean air extractor.

Discharge

The extracted chips and dusts collect in the swarf bag inserted in the container for low-dust removal. The filling container mounted on rollers significantly facilitates the transport of the deposited material to the disposal point. After emptying or changing the swarf bag, the filling container is easy to insert again thanks to the two laterally mounted clamping levers. The container is automatically coupled to the vacuum system without a hose. The built-in sight glass allows the filling level of the container to be checked at any time.

Operating principle

The powerful fan located on the clean air side filters the dusty air to the extraction units; swarf and coarse particles are diverted by the integrated pre-separator directly into the collection system. Remaining fine dust is filtered out by the fine dust filters of dust class “M”. The AL-KO OPTI JET® filter cleaning system uses compressed air bursts during the extraction process to remove dust adhering to the filters to ensure consistent extraction power. Standard features include a large movable collecting container.
