Customer Comments about T45+
Jason Wood – MARTIN T45
Wood Furniture – Ramsey, Minnesota
I purchased a MARTIN T45 planer because it excels in all of its features. The height adjustment is amazingly accurate and repeatable. Changing knives on the TERSA head is effortless and quick. Its design makes it very sturdy and compact with excellent dust collection. The more I use it, the more impressed I become with how well the designers thought through the machine. Not very often does a machine excel at everything but I think this one does.
Dave Edwards – MARTIN T74, T54, BARTH VakuuCar+
Edwards & Wilson Cabinet Makers – Toronto, Ontario
I got into the world of MARTIN Group machines with my T74 slider. After I had so much good experience with this solid and very accurate sliding table saw I bought my MARTIN T45 thickness planer with the “Shelix” spiral cutter head. It does a fantastic job and I and my workers enjoy working with a simple to operate machine. The last MARTIN machine I got is the MARTIN T54 jointer. This jointer make perfect straight boards and the 90° fence is the most solid I have ever seen.
I also purchased the BARTH VakuuCar+ available from MARTIN. This mobile workbench has a swinging frame which allows me to work by myself when moving large panels.
Mr. Isaac B. Hayun – Weber LCE-3-1350 CMP2, MARTIN T75 Prex, T45, T54, T27 Flex
Trieste Corp. – Long Island City, New York
I am building high end custom furniture and for this I needed the right machines for precise and quick results. I chose the Weber wide belt sander because it gives me the best flexibility for solid wood, veneer and lacquer/sealer sanding. With the patented Weber CBF system, I get almost no oscillation and the few marks left are removed by the patented Weber planetary brush head aggregate. The planetary head not only takes the marks away it also can sand deep into profiles and breaks the edges so that we do not need to sand by hand anymore.
I also purchased a tilting arbor MARTIN T27 Flex shaper, T45 thickness planer, T54 jointer and the T75 Prex dual-tilting sliding table saw. These machines are heavy duty and carry with them a great resale value…something that you do not see much anymore with industrial woodworking machinery.
Walden & Co – MARTIN T45/T54 Planer
This machine is so silent and accurate it is remarkable. Impossible to measure any deviation from the dimension given. No snipe, no grain tear out. This machine has rapidly changed our S4S process. The perfect pairing with our T54 joiner.
Perfectly set at the first attempt+
The standard electronic control unit, with 99 storable planing dimensions, makes setting the planing height so easy that even the first piece fits like the last piece. The thicknessing table can also be moved in increments of 0.1 mm by simply depressing the button. The controls for the feed rate are also within easy reach of the operator. The T45 comes equipped with a soft start Star Delta starter and an electronic wear free spindle brake.
Perfection comes as standard...and there+
Thanks to the TERSA solid steel cutterhead, which enables a positive, exact positioning of the knives, the surfaces are perfectly planed – and it takes less than a minute to change each knife. The TERSA reversible knives are available in four different types (chrome steel, HSS, M42 and carbide). In addition, by using two dummy cutters, the standard four-knife cutterhead can also be operated as a two-knife cutterhead.
You can also switch between two feed speeds (6 and 12m/min) while the machine is running. The optional infinitely variable inverter drive enables speeds between 15 and 80 feet per minute – thereby allowing you to dial in a perfect finish every time. Furthermore, MARTIN offers different feed and table systems for the T45: Thicknessing tables with or without table rollers, and/or with or without vacuum table holddowns. A sectional steel infeed roller and a second outfeed roller are options to consider. Rubber or grooved or smooth steel feed rollers are also available.
The T45 Contour - profile up to 630mm in width+
You can choose between the Contour15 and the Contour25 achieving a profile depth of 15,5 or 25 mm respectively. Both machines come with the “Contour Planing” cutterblock with 4 TERSA knife pockets as well as 2 corrugated back knife pockets. If your main focus is on profiling you can choose the “Contour Profiling” cutterblock equipped with 2 TERSA knife pockets and 4 corrugated back knife pockets. For thinner workpieces you should consider the vaccuum table. This option in combination with a vacuum pump enables you to machine very thin workpieces.
Both Contour machines are equipped with an efficient control unit, whose storage capacity is particularly advantageous in profiling work. The precise positioning of the thicknessing table, with an accuracy of 0.1 mm, is even more important for profiling as it is for planing. Furthermore, the Contour machine’s control system recognizes if profile cutters have been inserted into the cutterhead, ensuring a safe working environment thanks to its intelligent monitoring.
It’s so easy to set up the profile+
Profile knives can be inserted into the four cutterhead knife pockets in both machines. The cutters can be inserted radially or axially and with the supplied setting gauge, set-up times can be reduced considerably. Profiles can be planed up to 630 mm wide and 25 mm deep quickly, easily and accurately.
The T45 Contour opens up a unimaginable range of new products and possibilities. Besides planing, you can profile complete church pews seats in one pass. Cabinet door manufacturers can specialize providing profiled door panels to their customers. Decoratively profiled billiard table aprons can also be achieved with this unique machine. In brief: The T45 Contour is the first choice wherever wide profiles have to be produced in one pass.
